Good luck with your very welcome research Chloe and I'm only sorry I can't make the development weeks in Cardiff next month. I am a disillusioned audio describer from Scotland (Dunfermline) wondering what I could do to improve/make AD more accessible/usable to VIs. In the VI theatre-going group I am also involved with only 75% use the full AD service, some preferring to 'use their imagination' to access the performance and others, fearing appearing anti-social, forgo the AD introduction as they prefer to chat to their friends.
All the best,
Delighted to read this as integrating AD is my goal too.
I am 30, born blind and an emerging theatre director, workshop facilitator and AD consultant based in Scotkand. I have worked with Graeae and Birds of Theatre and am passionate too about having integrated AD in theatrical productions and working towards thus too. Every success. Yours, Aly Woodhouse
